Ivrt B'Ivrit
Not many things define a nation more than a shared language. As Jews living in the diaspora and as Jews are spread all around the world, an ability to communicate with one another as brethren can only be accomplished through a fluent knowledge of the Hebrew language – Lashon Hakodesh.
At RKYHS our Judaic studies classes are taught "ivrit b'ivrit". The language of instruction is Hebrew and our students graduate High School with the ability to converse with any Jew in our common language.
In addition, conducting class in Hebrew helps improve our students Hebrew vocabulary which in tern betters their independent understanding of holy text. Quite often, our students take apart texts assigned by teachers, together with a Chevruta or study partner, before entering class. This is just one of the many unique aspects of our Judaic Studies program.
