Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School Honor Society
The Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School Honor Society was established as a means to recognize students who are outstanding in the areas of scholarship, community and school service, and character.
Students in their senior year who have been at Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School since the beginning of tenth grade and who have demonstrated the following criteria are eligible for admission.
Criteria
Students must have a cumulative GPA (Grade Point Average) of 3.5 or better.
Students must epitomize distinguished citizenship as determined by the following criteria. Exemplary Moral Character: respect for-
- Students, teachers, administrators and other adults.
- Diversity within the Jewish population, various cultures and humanity at large.
- Religion; demonstrating a positive attitude toward Judaism in general and full adherence to halakha (during all school related functions in particular).
Student’s participation in extra-curricular activities, in and out of school, designed to better the community and humanity. In order to be eligible as a Society inductee, beyond the eighteen hour yearly requirement of all Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School students, one must demonstrate exceptional time and effort in community and school service activities and programs.
Incidents of cheating, plagiarism, violence, and disrespect for people and property are not indicative of honorable behavior and will serve as grounds for disqualification for induction. Students will be judged for admission into the honor society by teachers and administrators. The induction ceremony takes place in the fall.
