Learning Lab

The Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School Learning Lab is designed to support the academic needs of mainstream students who require assistance in order to succeed in a Yeshiva High School program with a dual curriculum. Trained professionals meet with small groups and individuals to equip them with strategies and tools for future independent study, while offering remedial support in subject areas. Remedial intervention is skill-based and study skills are integrated into content area instruction.

RKYHS Learning Lab will:

Identify high risk freshmen and upperclassmen requiring services and/or accommodations


Offer small group support to students in content areas using a skill based approach


Provide skills training in areas such as note-taking, test-taking strategies, time management and study skills


Communicate with parents, teachers and support services


Offer time management/study skills groups to freshmen


Coordinate peer tutoring services


Supervise extended time testing and test accommodations such as oral testing, computer, tape recorder, etc.
