Israel Action Committee
The Israel Action Committee at RKYHS consists of a group of students very excited about and committed to the State of Israel. They have offered their services to run fund-raisers, to educate, and to plan and advertise programming, all for the benefit of M'dinat Yisrael and her relationship with high school students. This year, the committee is very excited to be taking part in the America Eats for Israel campaign, in which restaurants from around the country, on a specific day, will donate a percentage of their gross income to a worthwhile organization in Israel. The program is being run through Jewish day schools, and the RKYHS Israel Action Committee is honored to serve as the body overseeing the program for all of New Jersey. Closer to home, the committee members work to educate their peers about modern-day Israel on many fronts - from presenting a news update about Israel every day, to posting editorials and information on the Israel Action Committee Bulletin Board, to leading short Sichot sessions periodically. Exciting new fundraising opportunities lie ahead within the school, and communication with nearby Israel committees will, God-willing, allow Kushner students to positively impact (and perhaps introduce) Israel-related initiatives of the greater Metrowest community. All things good for Israel and Israel awareness are goals for the Israel Action Committee, and it gladly welcomes suggestions for new methods serve the country and achieve these important goals.
